truma ultrastore will not work on gas

water heater works o/k on electric but will not work on gas checked all taps are switched on ,fridge and fan-heater are o/k help please

rodney...Have you removed the gas cowl from the outlet point on the outside of the van. Unless this is removed, which is a safety device, the gas fumes won't get away. Also, on most vans each gas appliance has an isolator valve. Has this been switched off.

Of course there are other reason why it won't fire up but I'm not an expert on gas so I leave anything other than the basics to the experts.

Silly question but do you have gas or has your bottle run out?

Rodney, here is the routine you should follow:

Is there gas available?

Are the isolation taps switched on?

Is the cowl cover removed?

Is 12v available and working?

Have you checked the fuse on the electronic unit? if blown, replace with a 1.25aAT fuse.

If yes to all above:

When you switch on does the red light come on straight away?

if it does come on straight away, you need to replace the electronic unit.

OR does it come on after about 6 seconds?

If it comes on after 6 seconds, when you switch it on first, can you hear the gas valve "clunk" as it engages?

Can you hear the spark ignitor clicking?

If you cannot hear the gas valve "Clunk" into life, it needs replacing.

If you cannot hear the spark ignitor clicking, then it is one of 3 things, but at this stage, you should get a Truma approved engineer to look at it.

I had a similar problem last week. I did all the checks Damian mentioned above and put it down to an airlock in the gas supply.

Got my corgi mate to undo gas nut on heater and hey presto it now works.
