Trumer Heating

I have a 2016 Bailey (Jive) Pursuit 400-2. I am wanting to run my van heating without filling the water heater.
Is this possible or do I have to fill the water heater.
I have tried to do this and I can not get it to work.

What does your user manual say?
You don’t say what type of heater(s) you have. Is it one of the underseat combi?
