So we pick up our new/old caravan tomorrow, due to wife having had a stroke, she's not so steady on her feet & likes some tv time to escape from me & reality, looking for a reasonable 12v tv, have seen a cello 32" tv, does anyone have an alternative idea, I know tv in van is a contentious issue so don't shout at me lol.

If you were closer to Worcester, you could have an old 12v Tv that we have stored in a cupboard. However why do you want a 12v TV. Do you go off grid a lot as a normal 240v TV coudl be okay for your needs. We have a 240v 28" Tv in our caravan. Also a 12v 32" Tv will drain your 12v battery quicker.
If your always on hook up then any TV will do.
If you intend to go off-grid then you could get away with using an inverter but that will drain your battery even quicker.
We use a 24" Cello TV/DVD and are very happy with it.

Another one for a standard 240v TV (as I don't go off grid). Bought a cheapish JVC smart tv from curries. We never watch terrestrial TV live when we're away, we either watch Netflix or catchup / on demand. If the site WiFi is pants I set up my phone as a mobile hot spot.
If you time it right get to your local tip, there is always somebody throwing out small tv,s along with the remote. Just give them a story about your mates son Just starting a electronic course.
We have a 24ins Akai smart TV from ebay for rainy days. Works on 240v mains or 12v battery using a cigarette lighter type plug. £135. had it for a year now with no issues.

Thanks for answers/advice, we used to use a 240v TV from back bedroom & the van we have bought has a TV, not sure of brand/size as pick up van in morning, just wondered as my brother nipping my head BUT he has a converted van & parks off grid, most wild we will do would be occasional lay-by night & I'm sure we will survive with a board game or a book lol
We have a Sniper TV with built in DVD player. Ours is a smart TV will run off 12v or mains, and from a satellite. The DVD player is useful if the TV signal is poor. We trawl charity shops for cheap DVDs as a backup and alternative to normal TV.
Some TV's are low voltage but have a mains adapter that reduces the voltage down. I have an LG smart TV that is so equipped. It's 19 volt! (Same as most computers)
So I purchased a 12v to 19v step up transformer off Amazon I think it was and thats glued onto the back of tge TV (about the size of a box of Swan Vesta matches)!. That way I never have to bother with taking the mains transformer with me from home. (TV is used in the conservatory)
So now, when away in the caravan, the TV gets plugged into the 12v socket whether off or on grid!,

I think that the majority of TVs these days internally operate on low voltage anyway?
Indeed so, but the transformers are internal, so STILL require 230v input to work.
Yes they do, but quite often the Power Supply Unit is built into the TV so isn't accessible without taking it to bits. In Mr Plods case the PSU is external so much easier to adapt to 12V.

We have a 19 inch 12v cello, had it 4 years with no hassle (previous 2 Avtecs went in a skip, in "my experience" overpriced junk)
As for using TVs on site, I read but OH will watch any tripe they dish out. She uses earphones so can have it as loud as she wants and it won't bother me or anyone else.
