Looking at buying one of two vans. Bailey Pegasus Verona and Bailey Unicorn Valencia, both 2011 models. Could anyone advise which is the higher spec as they look fairly identical layout wise etc.

The Unicorn is the higher spec, mainly down to the Alde heating system. But the will likely have improved fridge, oven, carpets, upholstery, mattresses, cisgender springing. Perhaps curved cupboard doors. Much of the difference is not immediately obvious except the body width.

The Pegasus came out in 2010 as the top of the range and included such as Tracker and ATC. In 2011 Bailey brought out the Unicorn as the top of the range and downgraded the Pegasus, plus dropped Tracker and ATC from the Peg to be left as extras. Having had a Pegasus 462 and now having a Unicorn S4 Seville, I think the Pegasus was/is the better built product but you will have to pay for ATC and Tracker if you want them. (Tracker also includes a caravan alarm that works even if you don't have a Tracker subscription.)
The Unicorn also has a solar panel on the roof as standard so helps with keeping your leisure battery topped up.
The only way is to build a list of what you need and compare them.

Its all a matter of your own design choices as what you both want to meet your needs when away, Seeing them both and seeing what they offer you is what will enable you to make the right choice for future holidays, Good luck and happy holidays.
Only you can decide which you think is best for needs or desires, all forumites can tell you is what did or didn't work for them, and perhaps give some indication of problems they have had. All useful information but it has to be your choice.
I think that saying only you can decide, is stating the obvious and not actually answering the OP’s question re which is the higher spec. For someone new to caravaning they may have little or no knowledge of the differences in order to make an informed decision.

The choice probably depends on if you want the ALDE heating although the upholstery will be a bit more upmarket on the Unicorn. If you plan to tour in Winter the ALDE is probably better but in Summer it makes no difference and the blown air in the Pegasus will cope easily most other times.
Basically you need to see both to see what suits you best.

I haven’t checked the specs but chances are theValencia is heavier than the Pegasus on account of the Alde. If you have a limit on weight, do check that you can tow both.
