Good morning to you all. To cut a long story short, we have a very small but tidy 3 birth 93 sprite which we bought last year. We love caravaning so much we wish to upgrade to the next step. We've been to Wanda Home (A1/M62 roundabout) and spotted a lovely Elddis Typhoon ex300 1997 up for £4,200. The van is generaly great condition and has a multitude of features that our humble sprite can't offer. While I was examining the end shower room I noticed that the wallpaper was different from the rest of room on the nearside wall. I felt the wall and it was a bit lumpy near the top spanning about a foot square in area. I went outside the van and checked the awning rail seal an it looked like it had been repared but not very well in that the sealant was a bit taty and, in my opinion, not very tidy. I had a chat with the very helpfull sales guy who went to get his trusty damp meter. He checked the wall and it came up at 30%. He then went on to say that for a good DIY'ist it isn't a massive job to fix. Question is, should I still buy this van or should I give it a WIDE birth. He did a damp check on the rest of the van and it was all well below the standard. I don't want to be blinded by the fact that we love this van and then regret it later. What do you think guy's?
Thank you greatly in advance for any help.
Regards
Gary
P.S. We will get a years machanical warranty with this van but it won't cover damp.
