vendee sites

We are planning our 1st trip abroad with our outfit next year with some friends who are going to the vendee but we are unsure about a choice of site. we have narrowed it down to 3, Pong, La Guyonniere and Du Jard. We would appreciate any views from anyone with any experience of any of these sites good or bad. Thanks

We went to Camping Pong a couple of years ago-booked through the Caravan Club-we had a pitch of apprx 110 sq mtrs with own water & drainage for I think roughly

Had an excellent time, pitches good, try to book on the new part of site, showers excellent, friendly staff, 3 very good family pools, free fishing, fridge hire available. We went in August 2003 when it was the heatwave so we struggled with the fridge in the van and therefore recommend hiring a fridge. Pay extra for the 10amp electricity as the lower ampage kept tripping and we had to keep going to reception which was a pain. Childrens playground -fair, good shop on site with fresh bread everymorning which was a great incentive to get up in the morning! Must visit St Jeans de Monts. We are going to La Pailotte in Landes region, do you know anything about that? Good luck with your trip, love to hear from you.

Spent last 5 years going to Pong, & enjoyed every one of them watching the site grow with the new owners who took over the first year we went. Very familly freindly superb food, excellent for local culture, local attractions. For kids both young & old, Puy du Fou & Talmont St Hilaire castle are a must as are all the local markets for such fresh produce you won't taste the like of on these shores. As you can deduce, the Vendee is every thing you can expect of a holiday. Pongs new pitches can easily accept the largest of Twin Axle vans, but try to approach the site from Landevielle as the turn can be a little tight with large Car / Van outfits.
