Vintage Security

Hi. I'm a Newby to the sit and hoped someone would be able to help.

I'm now the proud owner of a 1970 Digue 380 and would like to fit a hitch lock for security both when towing and not. The hitch is the same as those fitted to the sprites of the late 60s.

Does anybody know which hitch lock, if any that I could use?

Unfortunately the local dealer couldn't help unless it has Alko on it

A hitch lock won't guarantee security for your caravan and fire brigades recommend that hitch locks are not fitted when towing in case the caravan needs to be rapidly unhitched, in the event of fire for example.
Click Here to see several universal hitch locks which might deter or slow down thieves.
It's very important to insure your caravan because unfortunately no lock would stop a determined caravan thief.

I would not use a hitchlock for security. Theives use either a steel frame or just chain it to a towing vehicle and take them very quickly when not hitched. A good wheel clamp is far better but nothing is perfect they are far more secure though. Check the size of your wheel first to make sure you buy the right size though.

There you go................
