Volkwagon Type 25 camper

Anyone towed a van with a type 25 camper? Wife wont get rid of caravan so wondered if i can combine the 2?

Thinking of a type 25 wedge, prob 1.9 petrol to pull my 1000kg caravan.

Any ideas?

To my knowledge, Type 25 indicates that it's a pre 1979 7 seater. But that was never built with a 1.9 engine. Are you sure you've got the model designation right?

have a look at snail trail web site you can get a nearly new van from brasil.Thay have a water cooled engine but saw a tv programe that had a camper towing a caravan type trailor made of 2 rear ends of a camper joined together on a single axle. This must be of the same weight.

If you are talking about the VW van built in the 80's, then this is the T3 series (1979-1992). The earlier 1.9 petrol engine only had between 60 and 90hp, depending whether it was a carburettor or fuel injection version, so don't expect breathtaking performance when towing a 1000kg 'van, despite a maximum permissible towload of 1500kg (4 wheel drive models even had a 2500kg although they must really have struggled to tow that weight). The turbodiesel model of the late 80's would probably be a better bet.
