You don't say what you want to tow so it's going to be rather difficult to say whether it's going to be any good. Also, you don't say whether you've got a petrol or a diesel.

Kerbweight information is rather relative. The approx. 1450-1500kg that my data shows would be more than adequate for towing a smaller to medium size caravan but the manufacturer's towing spec is 1600kg and a caravan of that weight that would be pushing it a bit.

I have had an 850 TD GLT for 11 years now has 152K miles on the clock. still get 43 miles per gallon solo and 30 towing if I am not to heavy on the right foot. As Volvo are changing the V70 I hope to change for the old V70 D5 se in the next few weeks. if it is half the car the 850 has been I will be well pleased.
