I'm very confused about the weight of my Passat and am struggling to get any information about what caravan i can safely tow. Can anybody help me with the 85% weight and wheter it would be suitable to tow a caravan weight of 1300kg. I am new to caravaning and would welcome some help please!
 
The plain fact is that you will not get any accurate figure for the kerbweight of your Passat without having it weighed. Kerbweight is specific to every car so any published data can only be a guideline. If you strictly want to stay within the 85% recommendation (although I would say you will never notice the difference of a couple of percent either way) you'll have to find a weighbridge nearby.
