Ive read postings on this forum for quite a while and the conclusion was I bought a new Coachman. I Dont recal any newish Coachman having this problem and I bet they also get their panels from the same supplier. They use acrilic capped ABS and i wonder if the faults on other makes like Bailey Swift and Avon etc maybe down to construction methods. We all know Coachman are very heavy in comparison to most other makes but does that mean they support the front and rear panels better therefore less likely to twist and cause cracks etc.

Coachman also I belive test each year on the pave at the Alko test track in Germany and therefore maybe more knowledgable to where their carvans are prone to stress, twist and vibration and beef up accordingly. They are I'am told the only UK manufacturer to do this.

I also noted no issues with Hymer and other German makes who are also rather heavy.

Does anyone no of any cracking on Coachman and German caravans, they seem to be better built I think.

Hi, we have a Coachman 460/2 year 2001 and have several splits on corner of front panel. I got inside the front locker to do a repair but the splits are only on the gel coat so i left them as you have to look direct at them to see.

Hi hope you all had your cracks sorted just to let you know i am on my second wyoming 2003 and 2006 no probs with ABS panels.Van is used most weekends in summer on caravan club rallys and for 3 weeks holiday mostly on cls some of the ground we go on is rather rough but no probs as yet.Also curious as to where Rich went quite enjoyed his banter about GRP and ABS seems knows more about motore bikes than caravans.Hopeing you right about new sealants from 2007 as going to look at new California next week yep Bailey again had a realy bad experience with a Swift a few years ago but thats another story .Happy new year and good vanning.Bill

Hi all after reading all your comments i have recently bought a 2005 bailey discovery are they the same panals or is it from 06 onwards please.

Also what polish can i use to protect thanks mark
