The maps for the UK on Tomtomgo are in the region of 1Gbyte but as I wrote previously you only need to do this once. After that, if you have live traffic updates turned on data download will vary but probably not massive amounts. Speed of live updates could be an issue.

Thats part of your planning - you download your maps before you leave home, just like you would have historically bought a paper map of the area. The point being it can be done ay home and does not use data.This is a caravan forum, so I would expect that you are out and about and no home wifi available.
