weather stations

Anybody have one? Any recommendations for a budget set up ? Have seen one on the big river= Vevor 7 in 1 £80 which gets good reviews, also within budget. What are your thoughts?

I bought a La Crosse weather station many years ago - the forecaster simply works on changes in air pressure and not that good at predicting the weather! - battery consumption is quite high when the outdoor receiver is configured to update the main display - the date/time no longer updates automatically and is a PITA to set after recharging the batteries.

£68.99 direct from the company with free P&P. I can think of better things to spend my money on, as weather is what it is and without too much effort you can suss it out for your location. For forecasting there are apps, or just ask nice Ms Alexa.

I have a Netatmo. There are two units, one inside the other outside. I can see my local weather, internal and external air quality and temperature. There is a weekly forecast and I can view the results of others all over the world.

I can add a wind vane and a rain gauge. But struggle to see the point and they are expencive.

Me, I just use the Met Office app on my mobile, don't have to be where the weather station is located to eye ball it, gives an hourly or daily forecast and can access these for different locations.
Had some years back a cheapo weather station, never found it any real use and long since dumped when I discovered what I could access on my phone.
Can look at the weather vane on the adjacent building, if I need to know the wind direction at home, but a glance at the clouds gives a pretty good guide, and is free of local disturbances.

Use the £80 for, or towards two good meals out with the wife, very likely to be better received. Will also aid the UK economy not the Chinese's.

I had two , both with indoor and outdoor units and both failed after about 3 years , the outdoor units stopped transmitting to the indoor unit. So now I just look out the window and use the met office website if going somewhere.

I have a Bresser weather station. They have various types at different prices.

Mine is probably 12 or more years cold and the outside unit is still going well.

Does most of what you want and stores data that can be downloaded to a PC, which I did for years then got bored with it.

Works off of batteries or USB charger.

The transmission distance from outside to inside unit is good...over 50m

Has everything thing we need.
