If there are two versions then another caravaner with the same van as yours might have the different version and incorrectly advise you. Whale have excellent customer service and it might be best to contact them with details of your existing pump to see if the new one is compatible. In the meantime I would wait until the ordered one arrives and compare them together. It’s quite likely both versions are compatible but not guaranteed.

You can use any submersible pump that is designed for a caravan, the difference will be the maximum flow (Litres per minute) the pump is rated at. I'd suggest going for one with a 5L/m or more if you use the shower, or if the kitchen and bathroom taps are likely to be used at the same time.

The pumps flow rating is just what the pump can deliver (without the hose attached). You won't necessarily get much more water in the caravan if you use a pump with a higher flow rate, because of all the pipe work in the caravan which tends to restrict the flow.

Saxo Appeal,

The 2023 Swift handbook suggests you have an on-board pump (see below) - our 'van has one - check before buying!

Hi Micky

Can you please advise if what I am buying is wrong then, to pull water from an Aquaroll?

Sorry getting a little confused here

I thought what I purchased would just allow a better flow from the aquaroll to the Caravan which uses an internal pump (as pictured above) to draw the water in, and also stop any kinks.

If what I have purchased is wrong, can you please advise correct hose, as we pick up the new caravan in less than a week and would need to cancel this order and go for something else.
Thanks :)

My last Swift caravan had an internal Flojet pump which was more than capable of pulling water from the aquaroll via the Swift supplied hose. Yours must have a connecting hose supplied with the van. If it required an external pump the maker supplied them as part of the new van’s equipment.

Experience has shown us that one will probably find that buying most things direct from the dealer or even Online will be cheaper than buying from the CAMC shop when you include postage in the cost from CAMC

The caravan comes supplied with the long hose to connect to a Tap only, which is why I need a short hose for the Aquaroll, if we don't have a Tap on location, which is why I purchased the below, but now having doubts

What you require is an Aquaroll to caravan hose. It has a connector fitting at one end to go into the caravan. At the other end in the aquaroll it has a plastic strainer. It also has a moveable soft plastic “mushroom” cap that you slide along it to cover the aquaroll opening.

From your explanation what you have bought is wrong.

Cancel the order, as Otherclive said the onboard pump is more than adequate. Also, there’s no power at the inlet to drive a pump!

If your caravan is a new 2023 you should get a hose connector for the aquaroll with it, probably with the hook up lead somewhere in the van. If you don't get one the dealer you are buying from should have them available, worth asking for a free one. The one you need is basically a fitting to go into the side of the caravan, a length of hose and a filter strainer on the end. You may find that when in the Aquaroll the filter strainer floats and the pump will not pull water into the van . The solution is to either attach a weight to the strainer, or as we did, slide a length of rigid plastic tube over the legth of hose, Wickes sell, white overflow water pipe which is ideal.

As in most things life gets more complex. This one should fit but you need to check the connection to the caravan. Now they seem to have a filter. Never used filters outside or inside the caravan as supplies here and in Europe are good. I guess the advantage of the filter is that it keeps the hose inlet on the bottom of the aquaroll. But then there’s a cost to periodically replace it. ☹️

But as posted above your caravan should have been supplied with the aquaroll to caravan hose fitment as if off grid your long hose may not be suitable to reach the tap which may be a communal tap anyway.

When I opened the front section I could see a step, the AL-KO Wheel Locks, an Aquaroll, coiled Elec Cable and lastly a coiled hose which looked long and more for the tap (see below)

That’s too long for connecting the aquaroll to caravan. This is the sort of thing we are talking about. This is Truma Ultraflow inlet hos but for the life of me I can't find a Whale equivalent other than the one I posted earlier but at three times the price as its more complex and includes a filter. Available on Amazon £20.48

Must be this one I require?

Will check other shops apart from CAMC

Thats it and not a bad price as some are advertised at £61. But even so I think it is unnecessary expense and complication which the caravan industry seems hell bent on doing. For aeons caravaners and motorhomers have used a basic hose connector without filter and are still alive to tell the tale.

i would wait until you collect the caravan and double check, the long hose is for connecting to a tap on a service pitch and reduces the water pressure going in to the caravan, I would be very suprised if you don't have the shorter length that connects the aquaroll, when we collected our last caravan the dealer had it set up, connected to electric and aquaroll to demonstrate how everything worked, and every new van we have bought came with pump, step, hook up lead, tv adaptor etc, I think Swift automatically include these bits as part of the price.

Well if that's the case the OP has led us a merry dance. but all is not lost as the Truma part does not include a filter and is shown in my post 18 above. and its cheaper still. You cannot assume anything can you?

Why don't you ask the dealer that sold you the caravan the correct designation or code for the pump. I am still a bit mystified why you need a new pump so soon as the pump should still be under warranty? Whale pumps are known for their reliability.
He doesn't need an external pump as the van has an internal one.
