Thats it and not a bad price as some are advertised at £61. But even so I think it is unnecessary expense and complication which the caravan industry seems hell bent on doing. For aeons caravaners and motorhomers have used a basic hose connector without filter and are still alive to tell the tale.

As I mentioned, if your drawing water from an aqua roll into your caravan, via your onboard pump , you have a Truma fitting.

The caravan comes standard with a water pump and also the direct mains water hose as it has an onboard tank.

I have been under the impression from your first post that you already had the caravan and not that is waiting collection. Probably why everyone has been confused.

We have never had a caravan that has an internal pump that draws the water from the aquaroll and never seen one that does this so probably not quite common? Also why supply the OP with a pump if it has an internal pump?

However we have only had Bailey, Swift, Lunar and Buccaneer caravans so other brands may have this set up.

The OP has not been supplied with an external pump. He was keen to ensure that if he went off grid then he could use his aquaroll so he bought an external Whale pump. What he bought from CMHC was the incorrect item, as being unfamiliar with his new caravan he made an honest mistake. My Swift had an internal pump, all others were external....so much quieter.

Okay understand so they have definitely ordered the incorrect pump as a pump is not required.

My 15 year old Bailey has a new internal Whale pump which via this simple piece of kit draws the water into the caravan from the aquaroll. Truma systems are different . Clive has explained the two types already. The OP does not need an external pump, nor will it work on his system and the caravan connection is not powered. The filter on the end serves as a weight to keep the pipe submerged.

Ok I also contacted someone on YT this morning, who also purchased the same Caravan a few months back and he just replied

According to him, if I want to use the Aquaroll then I must use the (no pump) Truma Hose:

If I want to use the on-board water Tank, then I need to use a Truma Mains Water Pump Hose, as it needs to feed the tank first (which has no internal pump), then once the tank has water, the onboard Pump will move the water around the Caravan, which is hopefully what is supplied (long hose) already with the Caravan in the front locker.

So depending on pitch and whether I want to use the Tank or the Aquaroll, I would now need to buy the short (no pump) hose which has also been advised above.

There’s something very wrong, very misleading and in fact very contradictory in this thread when viewed with the official Swift Owners Handbook / manual.

There are three totally different water systems. Hard to tell which one the OP has. Looking at his own pics it can’t be the Whale, must be the Truma? But there is a third system with the Alde Flow system which incorporates an on board cold water tank, on board pump but does not require a second pump in the aquaroll .
You will see the descriptions we have been discussing don’t mirror that described in the manual!
Surely the OP was given a full demonstration of how his water system functions by the selling dealer??

Any caravan with an internal positive displacement pump (diaphragm Pump) should have the capacity to suck water from an external water carrier.

I am not sure why the OP does not speak with the supplier and ask the question as the supplier will be able to give them the correct answer instead of us all guessing?

As I found out he hasn’t taken delivery of the caravan yet! I agree looking at the photo in the bag the connection is definitely a Truma. However what is not clear is the system a full blown Alde Flow or a Truma hybrid with an on board cold water tank.The OP will no doubt make sure the Dealer gives the full run down on the water system and let us know.

But are you sure you need a pump on the pipe and not just a filter for the Aqua roll.

No one had identified the type of pump (positive displacement) that can self prime and allows you to draw water from an external container.
