Whale heater problem

I have a 2014 Bailey Pegasus with a Whale Ivan blown air system. I am running on Battery and gas only. With the heating system set to off I can hear a motor cycling for about 2 seconds every 10 seconds, I can only assume it’s the heater fan as I can feel it blow out of the vents. Can anyone help me with stopping the fan running as it’s obviously an additional drain on my battery, thanks, Steve

AFAIK it's a design fault/feature that the unit can't produce any heat without running the fan - unlike the Truma blown air system which can be used on gas alone, without the fan running.

So the only way to stop the battery drain is to turn the unit off!

I don’t want to run the heater and it showing as OFF on the control panel.
I am off site so am just wanting to run 12v and gas for lights, water pump and cooking.

Does the fan system has its own fuse on the distribution unit - if so you can remove it.
Seems a bit odd that it continues to cycle as you have described even when entirely switched off.

I seem to remember ( but may be making it up 😀) that there was a setting to just run the fan, on the basis that this blew “cool air” around the van. Check the settings on the panel in case it is on?

I’ve tried everything to eliminate it and speaking to Whale they said it’s the circuit board in the controller that’s bad, anyone have any idea what kind of job it is to fix it or will I have to go to a repair shop?

Theres a company who fixes circuit boards, cant remember who, but someone will be along shortly to enlighten you.
