That's why Fred Drift is going towards Mince piesAs this thread is 2 years old, I would hazard a guess the van is serviced.

That is not very nice as most of us were newbies at some time asking for advice.Regarding too windy, if you haven't the common sense to judge yourself then you shouldn't be towing or owning a caravan.
If used, common sense would show that it is pointless commenting on a thread that is over 2 years old and already Fred Drift is discussing mince pies.Common sense costs nothing, I don't know why more people don't use it. 😕
Most people claim to be using "Common sense" but based on how many do get things wrong it shows how useless the phrase and using it is.Common sense costs nothing, I don't know why more people don't use it. 😕
Why would you need a seance? Most people claim to be using "Common sense" but based on how many do get things wrong it shows how useless the phrase and using it is.
Try "Good sence"
But you had an experience to draw on before setting out, whereas a total newbie caravanning has no experience of how that flimsy tin box behaves. Saying that many of us on the forum had no internet or forums from which to draw advice. We gained it by reading stuff, talking to people and trying stuff. Sometimes I tend to think that looking too much on the internet can cause uncertainty! But at other times it’s an absolute goldmine of information. When I drove double deck curtain siders I didn't consult forums to check if it was too windy, I used my experience and common sense to eye the situation up, and if it was bad I refused to drive! Simples.
Obviously in such conditions the blades will probably be feathered in some areas. But this weather isn’t countrywide and currently 35 % is being generated by wind. Quite reasonable don’t you think. It is just a bit blustery here today and we already have has our ration of power cuts. I wonder how well the wind farms are doing in this weather?

In the winter we have regular power cuts. We are about 10 miles from Stourport on Severn where I saw you last way back in the early 2000's.Blimey! Where do you live? We haven’t had a power cut for as long as I can remember- at least not in the last 20 or so years.
We were unable to join the rally at the time, but as we lived in Stourport we popped over to say Hi.You mean the Lickhill meet of 2006?
That's me in fancy dress in the middle

My car at the time, just as it was about to lose its front number plate. A long time ago, but are you in the picture above?
