Thanks for putting the record straight Polisher. :cheer:
May I offer you a belated welcome to the forum, and I hope that you will enjoy sharing tips and information here.
I've never tried commercially applied protection on any car or caravan but I use polish (as opposed to wax) sparingly to clear road grime that can't be removed through washing.
I apply Meguiars Deep Crystal 3 stage carnauba wax to keep a nice lasting shine on car and caravan after they have been washed using Fenwicks caravan shampoo.
The Meguiars Deep Crystal is easy to apply and doesn't leave a dusty residue when buffed up with a micro fibre detailing towel.

Our caravan was built by Swift which hasn't issued any limitations of that sort for the model that we own.
I wonder why Bailey don't want you to use carnauba wax products?

I remember when Mer was only available at markets and car boot sales, and was viewed with suspicion!

But what stunning results were achieved with that Mini bonnet (invariably red)!

It just goes to show what can be achieved with the right product, used every single day!!

Seriously, though, I've never used Mer but gather it's very good. I tend to use Autoglym, for any serious polishing, and Fenwicks caravan cleaner for general use - remember, the grass isn't always greener. If the caravan is greener, it's time to break out the Fenwicks!

Hi I have to agree with The Polisher.
We purchased a secondhand Coachman VIP 460/2 2012 back in March, and it had the Paintguard treatment.
The cleaning of the van is very easy just the add the special cleaning solution in a bucket and sponge/brush(the roof) over and rinse off, and all is done. All my other vans suffered from "Green Roofs" not a spot of green on this roof. Since owning it I have washed it 4-5 times and we have used it quite a lot 80nights out so far with more nights out next week and New Year. Heavy Rain is also a good for a good wash off, plenty of that at the moment.

Hi lads, how much have you paid for the treatment and do you have to take it to a base or do they come to you. ?

My van had the Paintseal product when the previous owner purchased new 6 years ago.
Life span of around 5 years so mine is a bit trickier now cleaning the black marks off but I have had the van 4 years and have like the others above have been happy with it.
Paintseal Direct here, think the life span is shorter if the van is not done from new.
I have been looking at Tourershine . They get good reveiws and praise from another forum. They seem to do a full restoration job and cheaper than paintseal.
I replaced some of the Decals on my van and you can see where the old ones left there mark, I didnt line the new ones up properly

It varies between £350-500 depending on the size of the van and if you have the inside upholstery and carpets protected (this is VERY good, as demonstrated when my 6 year old daughter dropped chocolate milt all over the seats, it beads up and you just wipe it off)

After 5 years, mine is starting to show signs of needing a "top up" which is fairly cheap to do.

They will come to your house to do it, we are having our new van (due in January) done at home, no difference in the price.

The dealer suggested Auto Glym for my Bailey when I asked about the flat spots on the paintwork ..... happy with that as it's the only polish I only use it on the cars and have done since owning one!
My van is under its cover at the moment having spent 5 hours polishing it top to bottom (which included the roof) and end to end before the weather got bad.
We're planning to re-wax it before starting our trips in the new year or, if not able to, certainly during the year it will have a couple of coats.
