What Tyres ????

I drive a 2.2 dci Nissan X Trail. It is fitted with the standard supplied Dunlop ST20 tyres which are very tarmac bias.

Can anybody recommend a tyre that is a bit more useful on the rally field. I appreciate there may be problems with more wear, noise and diesel consumption.

Any off-road tyre will inevitably result in a noisier, wallowier ride. The latter can even result in a potential stability problem when towing. Unless you really have a problem on the rally field and are prepared to accept the disadvantages on tarmac, I'd recommend having second thoughts. Perhaps another brand of standard road tyre would serve the purpose better.
