Where does it go

Took front off our Truma 3002 fire and the thermostat sensor come away leaving the sensor dangling. this is the copper wire from it, not sure what it is really called. Anyway apart from it going somewhere near or on the gas safety valve I do not know. Would appreciate if you could enlighten me . Thanks.

One end is attached to the gas valve, the bulbous end(the sensor) that you have in the van simply sits in a very crude holder at the front right hand side of the fire near the floor.
