Hi Annie

We live in Chichester if you want any local information.

Iain
Hi Iain

We will actually be staying at CC site Rowan Park north of Bognor Regis but will be visiting Chichester Marina cos a friend has his boat moored there. What are the 'must sees' in your area .......bearing in mind that we will be accompanied by our 2 dogs? Also do you know of any good pubs which do good food which allow dogs / have outdoor areas? Thanks.

Annie

Hi Mairi

We've had 10 days at Binghams Farm, Bridport (Easter) and 10 days split between 2 CLs, 1 near Wells and 1 near Bideford. We've got another 10 day break coming up at the end of August split between 2 CLs, 1 at Shrewsbury and the other near Hereford. 8 nights are also booked for Christmas at Moreton in Marsh CC site where we went last year. Lots of weekends also this year including 2 in the Skipton area, i in Warwick, 1 near Banbury and 1 near Durham. We'll probably head over to France again sometime next year but we're enjoying our green and pleasant land this year.

We are taking our son and his partner to the Lakes for August Bank holiday, solely to go to the Cars of the Stars Museum at Keswick. Then two weeks September/October taking in the IoW for a few nights, and then not sure where else!! Will be booking Xmas shortly, lots of weekends in between!! :O)

We stayed on a CL called Woodlands. Its about 2.5 miles from Wells on the road from Cheddar...just on the edge of the village of Easton. Enormous meddow with 5 LARGE pitches along two sides. You need your own facilities though as they haven't got a loo bllock yet although I believe its in the pipeline. We chose the pitch farthest from the gate at the bottom of the meadow. Little bit of road noise on the Sunday (darn hatters and tourists) but during the rest of our stay it was lovely. Its a fairly new CL...it was an allotment until a couple of years ago but has such excellent drainage that it couldn't be sustainedc as such...makes for an excellent caravan site though. Unlike a lot of CLs he won't allow any extra vans even for one night so there are only ever a max of five. Only two when we were there and our neighbours were pitched a couple of hundred yards away even though we enjoyed chatting with them each day as we passed in the meadow to get water etc. We're planning a return trip perhaps in the autumn.

We've just had 4 nights at a CL near South Brent (Devon) followed by a week at Wyatts Covert CC site (Denham), exploring London and Windsor.

We've got a week at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at the end of August, and may get a long weekend somewhere before then.

Hoping for good weather!

Hi Frank

We're spending time in the Somerset/Devon/Dorset area dreaming of retiring...I hit 50 last summer and Tim is 50 next month... so it hopefully won't be too long till we can head for milder climes. We loke the area around Milbourne Port...nice cycling lanes...nice bells in the Parish Church...etc, etc.

Still dreaming

Hi

We're off to cc site at Looe in Cornwall in August for just over 2 weeks, our second visit. Spent Spring Bank at Hillhead cc, May BH at Broadway cc site. Relocated 6 months ago due to work and have missed our regular haunts for weekends away, so hoping to try some weekends away in new places as well this year.

Hi all

We are off to Grantown-on-Spey on friday for five nights then on to Huntly Castle for five nights. Really looking forward to the peace and quiet of these sites even when they are fully booked there is always a really good friendly atmosphere and both places the staff are great.

Off to a lovely CL near Bideford next monday, 7 days. It allows us to see my aged parents, but still have a bolt hole for escape. They are well into their 80s and have the gas fire on even in this weather!

Two weeks at Freshwater East in september and then 2/3 weks at Grinlow Buxton in october.

Cheers

Alan

I'm off to Berry Barton Caravan Park, in Branscombe, Devon in a couple of weeks with my family. Never been to the site, but you can walk to the beach and two pubs, so I can't see it being too bad. I've also got a week at the Reader Rally in France at the Domaine des Ormes site near Dol.
