DFDS are currently recommending to arrive at Dover port entrance 2 hours before your booked departure time.
This is due French immigration conducting enhanced security checks and you will know French passport control is based at Dover.
Local TV is reporting long queues to get into the port with a lot of irate travellers missing their booked ferries. :(

Have a nice time down there in Ummm Cornwall, we were supposed to go down but daughter, her partner and kids have commandeered my van, :(
oh well its not there much longer so we let them have it, one more trip for us in two weeks time then OH and daughter + grandson go down for the last week in August,
I join them over the bank holiday and rip it all down :)
We then bring Mr Fleety home for his service and get him ready for the fest :woohoo:
Then we return to the touring fraternity in October for a week. Never to return (to that site)

Oh just spoke to daughter and guess what it's RAINING down there!!! Lovely here in Devon :)

By the time I get back from North Devon I only have two weeks before we set off again including the Woosiefest.
A question for our Keeper of the Records.
Do we have any late entrants?
Have we we had a three line whip for late comers or undecideds?
Can you refresh my dog brain who when and where and pitch etc coming.
I confess I may have changed my dates but it does do a week.
Over and above the Woosiefest we are up for a day of indulgence on the NYMR.
Dogs are allowed I think.

Hello, hello, well my French speaking is not as good as I hoped after a years course, ******.
But nice to meet up with friends again and playing boules almost every evening.
Big down side cleaning the windows after the local farmer harvested his Corn/ wheat , and now he is ploughing the field . 00.30 am. I found a crack in the rear panel of the van, left hand side 3 inches back from the front join. Sealed it with Aluminium tape. Ok until We get home. , but the dealer I bought it from , Caravan land Bister, has gone down, so I suppospe will go straight to Coachman for advise.
But that will be after the Woosie fest.
Cheers to all
Hutch , Elaine and Dogs.

We are going to do a day trip to Whitby on the NYMR.
I have looked into pre booking on their website and a 20% discount (+ an age concession) can be obtained for an all day rover ticket for Friday September 16th and return travel from Pickering to Whitby.

Anyone else up for this on the same day?

We persuaded Sir Outnumbered 4:1 to come to the Woosiefest by offering to help him set up. He arrives on that Friday, so it would be remiss of us to renege on our promise.

6 Woosies will be on site on or before Tues, so perhaps they could do the train trip on Wed or Thurs, therefore being available on site Fri to offer assistance. 4 additional Woosies will arrive on site by Thurs so they could perhaps do the train trip on Fri?
Just a thought. ;)

Ow about someone with Martins email check he is OK and still coming. If so, his eta on Friday. Then we can have a round up of who really wants to do the Whitby trip and who isn't bothered. The assistance and welcoming committee will then form itself. Martin and his family caravan regularly without us, I am sure he doesn't need the entire round table to get him sorted.

Oh yes we are up for the Friday, :woohoo:

Dusty...Dogs allowed at £3.00 each (But not allowed on the seats)
Parking at Pickering £5.00 per day....Car share??? :)

Can me and Mags go as someones kids = family ticket, we are TOO young for age concession :(

Gafferbill if you are pre booking for those who want to go, how do we make payment to you,
lot of money to find @ £50.00 plus per couple.
Or will they just take names and allow us to pay on the day?

I am only making a suggestion here folks........others may have other ideas :)

I did look at all available days and Friday 16th September is the day when the most number of people can go on my reckoning.
The actual on line pre booking cost for a youthful dynamic younger couple  is £43.70 if you apply the discount code "return20" ........and £37.30 for the more mature couples
This is for day rover returns Pickering to Whitby.

Everyone would have to make their own bookings I would think.........they do do group bookings but there is no cost saving....the minimum number is 20 and it looks more hastle.
Best to keep it free and easy.
