perhaps we can see how 'loose' we can get on quiz nite at the rally? or do I mean 'tight'?
You'll also have to have one or two for us, as we are not going to Stowford but going at the end of the same month to the WoosieFest up-country a bit. There's a few others in the same situation also, I believe. There was a roll count for the fest a few pages back.

PS - Congrats to Sprocket for reply number 1100 with:

Beech Croft Farm would suit us (it even gets a mention on page 37 of the February magazine). As I don't like driving on bank holiday weekends (too many caravans on the road
smiley-tongue-out.gif
), we would drive up Thurs 23rd May and depart Tues 28th (ie stay 5 nights). We will also add a couple of nights before or after near Nottingham to visit relations.
I notice they don't take 'group bookings', which I assume is booking everybody in one go, but that doesn't stop a group of us booking individually.

Who's for Beech Croft then?

Err Your Royal Woosieness there is The Queens Arms Taddington, 1.9 miles away.

We're definitely up for the Peak District. Any site that has dogs and a good dog exercise area is fine.
Will probably do a week too so I can meet up with my brother.
My only proviso is that the pitches must be a decent size. We don't want Sir Deli Dave and Sir Sproket kissing each other good night again through their windows

Hi Sir WC the problem I can see with that is 50% of us might get a pitch and then the rest of the pitches may be booked.
Think we would need to be up front to ensure who ever wants to go get's a pitch gets one.
(Poston put 12 aside for us) WE ARE THE WOOSIE CLUB AFTER ALL

Hi. Afraid we won't be joining you on this jaunt. No room to wiggle on this occasion, but hope to join you at our autumn meet instead. This does mean that someone else will have to bring the beer

Upper Hurst looks nice, but £4 extra for our dogs plus it seems they want £2.50 per car or is this for additional cars? Newhaven is better pricing althouh there is a charge of £2.50 per awning. Morris Leisure allows a maximum of 2 dogs so that out for us. Beech Croft state in T & Cs no group bookings and no refunds even if the weather is terrible and is quite expensive for us! Rivendale looks to be the nicest, but is way out of our budget. I think we would prefer Newhaven if we were going.

I have just rung Beech Croft to get their definition of 'group bookings' and they stated it tends to apply to tenters who cluster together, with lots of kids each, and make quite a lot of noise. As caravans are on pre-laid out pitches it's not such a problem.

However they only have 4 pitches left for the late May Bank Holiday. Any other suggestions? Being a Bank Holiday there may not be enough pitches for us, unless it's a very big site.

Looks like it's a toss up between my front lawn and Sir Deli Dave's lay by
smiley-laughing.gif
.

Maybe we need to consider a date shift by a week or so , outside of Bank Holidays, or look elsewhere.
smiley-undecided.gif

Rivendale looks ok although it gets mixed reviews and they charge £2.00 per dog! However they may give us a group discount with dogs free , perhaps?????????

As we're going to Rutland at Easter, this one's probably out for us. The kids want to go back to Broadhembury in Kent, as there's lots for them to do (and they're not into walking holidays!)
All the sites look really lovely.
