If the new tyres been fitted, there's not much chance of you checking the date of manufacture on the old one's now unless they have kept them to one side for you ..... what make were the old one's ?

Going back to Wheathill can anyone refresh my memory ,did EE phone signal work there and freeview or will I need a satellite.Didnt watch much Tv with all the excitement so dont really remember.Going back there next week for 5 nights and looking forward to it lots.

We appear to have a permanent Woosie presence at Wheathill lately. How many of you have been back since last Septembers Rally? Are they offering a loyalty discount for card carrying Woosies? If so we need to design a membership card. :cheer:

As I carry the the van's spare wheel inside the door I took it out before the van went for service, and have it in the boot of the car. I bought the van new and had to wait for it to be made, therefore i expect all tyres, including the spare, to be of the same batch. The spare has the following markings:

KargoMax C
ST-6000
GT Radial

Date Code 0312

I think that shows the tyres to be just over 3 years old. I will take the matter up with the service manager (also co-owner) tomorrow when collecting the van.

Sir WC, have you been out in the van this year?
If so surely you would have checked BOTH tyres before the off, wouldnt you??
Are you going to ask to see the old tyres?

I would also be asking questions as this blurb here is reading they are designed for caravans

Collected the van this morning.
Yes Kev - been out 3 times and did give tyres a cursory glance.
Asked to see old tyres, but they were left with tyre dealer for environmental disposal.

Spoke to workshop supervisor, who double-checked the tyres when the concern was raised by the fitter. The supervisor has been at the caravan dealers since we had our first van long ago so I gave him the benefit of the doubt as previous times he has been fair and we have had free gratis work.

I know next time to request that I see any items that have been replaced. Chalk it up to experience.

As the service on our van was the 3rd and final under warranty we completely de-nuded it other than gas bottle, such that a thorough inspection could be made. We are now taking the opportunity to weight everything as it goes back in. Await this space for the used payload. πŸ˜‰ Unfortunately there is no local weighbridge to check its MIRO, but the dealer-special upgrades (eg heavy duty steadies, motor mover, chrome grab handles, thicker mattresses, etc) eat into it. πŸ™

Started weighing things and we are 28Kg over the user allowance at the moment, but not all things weighed yet. πŸ™ Off to the local steel supplier in the morning to use their weigh bridge.

My guess at your total figure is 93kg when you add it all up 😱hmy:

Me now thinks it's his front door canopy that's taken him over weight πŸ˜›

From what i have just recently read poor SIr WC's van has got a MIRO of 1034kg with a payload of 141kg, he say's that he is already 28kg over that amount..... but there is the weight of the mover and other items still to be weighed the MIRO when weighed tomorrow could be as high as 1080kg with the mover etc: 😱hmy: the MTPLM is quoted at 1175kg unless things have changed

Edit .......
Just found the weights for the Lunar Conquest 462 2012
MIRO = 1082 and the MTPLM = 1210 ..... Oh dear even less to play with ..... 128kg

Now back from the weighbridge where caravan was weighed at 1240 kg (without everything put back in!). MTPLM is 1210 kg so looks like a bit more pruning needs to be done. πŸ™ The readout of the weighbridge is +/- 20 kg, so perhaps I (or the OH) need to take out 40 kg to be on the safe side. The van only had the 80 Ah battery in as well, not the 110 Ah and no spare wheel carrier. Also only 1 part-used Calor Lite cylinder. Oh where are skyhooks when you want them?

Sir WC
Have I misunderstood πŸ€”
She weighed in at 1240kgs give or take = / - 20kgs "without everything put back in"

So before you load all your own stuff you seem to have nothing to play with unless you chuck out the gas cylinder , battery??
From what you say your MIRO is more than the MTPLM 😱hmy:  :silly: :woohoo:

You misunderstood (you did not read my inner thoughts πŸ˜‰ ) "without everything put back in" actually means "most things put back in but not everything, about 90%". πŸ˜›
I have been doing some number crunching and we can make a further saving of 25 kg by going lean and mean. Then it's up to OH to make an additional saving of 10 kg from her cupboards.

I pinched Dusty's pitch last time, hope the meal was good, Did you have the lasagne? Ladygaga sent her's back, dry as an ole boot it was.
Oh and hope you checked the bill, I paid for the meal for the couple on the next table!!
Was outside before we realised, went back in and got nearly a tenner back!!
Enjoy your break.
