I'm in Porthmadoc this week, on a great 'Best of British' site with a fully serviced hard standing with on-site bar /restaurant and a nice town after the haul over the Bets y Coed mountain passes. If it was more accessible this would be a proper Woosie venue πŸ€”

You must have passed us, Parksy. We were at our van which is parked near Colwyn Bay. BTW which way did you go? M6, M56 A55 is not as pretty but avoids the mountain passes.

This is our first time connected to the water and drainage on a fully serviced pitch,I bought the mains water gubbins via Fleabay last week. I haven't succumbed completely though, because we're off ehu when we go to the Twinwood Festival next month

Hi Mel
We came along the M54 / A5 / A470 which was a bit challenging when we climbed past Bets y Coed πŸ€”

Imagine how challenging it was for the coach and four horses using the same historic route to Holyhead.

Horses were used to drag slate from the slate quarries around Bets y Coed, it must have been hard work. We were down to 30mph flat out in the trundle truck with the caravan on the last long climb. Heavy showers today here

We're here at Harbury Fields Farm (near Warwick) on our 3rd day and the weather is glorious. Just got back from Stratford-on-Avon and we 'did' Warwick yesterday. Tomorrow is Coventry with Sunday to put feet our up and start packing for a Monday departure. Weather has been brilliant. B)
