We went to Devizes, CCC several year ago, in December, Three Magpies was great, nice fire etc. The Bridge was excellent. The dog loved chasing the rabbits.
The Barge alongside the canal is very dog friendly too, and they have a good outside BBQ too on some days ( weather dependent)

Sorry that's the one I meant, the female chef, told me there would be game pie the next day as she was afternoon off and was going out shooting,
A lovely pie it was.

Bi annual heart scan done this morning, all good .
So off to Devizes CCC site, for a week from next Wednesday until the following Tuesday. Anyone around there at all. ?
Glad you've had the OK onwards & upwards.
We walked the canal up to Devizes, then I was dragged around the town,
got a taxi back!! Then had a snooze.
Made it to the Three Magpies though, very nice.

I done the walk/ hill climb up the canal, hoped for the tour of the Brewery, but it was closed.
Hoping to get down your way in a month or two, I will give you a call, when we know.

Big changes with wadworths as the brewery has moved out of town to a brand new facility that enables them to brew smaller quantities of craft beers to increase their range of offerings. Sadly the shire horses and dray are now out for retirement. It’s not viable to bring the beers in to town for deliveries given the distance from the new brewery. C’est la vie

Fellow Woosies and others, can anyone remember the name of the cl ,,,/ cs , site that Parksey, used just off the M5,,on his way down to St Ives,
Or if anyone can recommend a site half way, ISH don't mind the north road or south way down.

Hutch , it was a while ago. I think he used it a few times , firstly when his Nordelectronica charger needed overnight repairs by Apuljack.

If I’m wrong you can buy me a beer πŸ€ͺ🍺

There is one close to the junction of M5 and M50. As Parksy was coming from Birmingham, I would have thought a stop in Somerset would have been too early. Perhaps something closer to Exeter before hitting the A38?

I can remember saying he stopped at Taunton Dearne Services it was half way point to St Ives but I might be wrong πŸ™

Just had a meetup with Gagakev and Maggs down in Cockwood near Dawlish.......nice meal at the Anchor Inn.
Those two are enjoying their motorhome and are now away in Somerset.
We have been on a 9 day CAMC rally at Dawlish enjoying great weather on a spacious no frills field. Back home tomorrow.

Without access to PMs it could be difficult for new members who would like to attend a future Woosie meet. Guess Facebook would be the way.
I think they are trying to encourage use of FB so that they have a reason to shut down the forum not realising that many people are not subscribed to FB?

I did mention two years ago that I would not be able to organise or attend Woosies fest due to my ongoing body and eye problems,

I did ask if anyone could arrange a get together, but nothing happened. People going away, Body parts being replaced. some not wanting to do school holidays and others wanting to do them, I sadly got fed up.
Check post No 8684, onwards. Page 347.

Time to throw down the gauntlet!
How about end March early April 2026 . I have 11 sites, all near a hostelry and most FSP in Gloucestershire.
We can look at adjoining Counties too.
Who's up for it?πŸ‘πŸ‘

As we no longer have a caravan although we cannot join you on site, perhaps we could find accommodation nearby to join in?
