I use 2 bicycle type cable locks.
1 goes through the battery handle and the handle on top of the motor.
2nd goes through the 1st and around whatever is convenient to secure it to. On site that's normally the caravan wheel.
Same idea for us, It's really just a visual deterrent, if the tow rags want something they will have it away. Claim on insurance for a new one.

Back home after a very pleasant week at Pont Kemys.
Some further notes:
Sunday Lunch at the Chainbridge Inn is very good and very popular. If you are thinking of doing this; book ahead.
TV reception at the site is poor if you only use your caravan aerial. We hadn’t taken our long arial cable to put into the ehu bollard but they had a box full in reception and happily loaned us one.
Food waste: They recycle food waste ( as well as the usual recycling). We were given a biodegradable bag on arrival for this purpose. You might want to take a couple more. Some people just scraped food straight into the bin but as the adults only bit is at the further end of the site, a bag is handy.
Electricity: This is metered. At the start of your stay you are given a card preloaded with a certain amount. We had £60 on ours. You don’t pay anything at this point. You tap the card against the meter on the bollard and the money is transferred to the meter which then counts down as you use electricity. At the end of your stay you tap the card against the meter again and the balance on the meter is transferred back to the card. You then pay for however much you have used at Reception.
We are fairly frugal with electricity and were out quite a bit, however we used electricity for everything except cooking. We only had the heating on a few times as it was mild and put the hot water on when we needed it. We only spent £2 a day!! 😲.
The only downside with the site is that there is no public transport that we could see. This may ( or may not) be tricky for the Darksiders but I am sure that between us we can sort out lifts when needed.
DD is going soon and will be reporting back, I’m sure.
Mel

Thanks Mel,
How can I beat your reports👍👍
More next week
I think we will be using more electricity. It turned very cold last night🙀

He wrote this on the 13 th December 2011! I don’t find your comment funny, nor yours Clive.
You have no idea how tasteless your comment and endorsement are🤬
From John B’s emoji you can see it was a tongue in cheek post (wink), and his last word was misspelt too.😉

DustyDog, I feel sure there was no harm meant and as all Woosies, have a good sense of humour, There is no harm done, but being able to read back 14 years of Woosies threads, I will have to think of a suitable award to JohnB.
RotT, Reader of the Threads.

Historically it has been frowned upon reopening old posts. 14 years old must be a record🤪

Welcome to The Woosies, Sir JohnB the Rot T.
I hope you can make it to the Woosies fest at Pont Kemys, next April.

The favoured site is https://pontkemys.co.uk weekend of 18th, 19th April 2026. Remember the prices will probably rise from the 2025 advertised.
Everyone is welcome to the get together.

Jeeze.
sp the indefinite article should be "an". The "h" of honour is silent!
To be proclamed a Woosie is indeed a honour.
I will cherish this moment until the day I die!

Like it! Of course I like it! Name someone who doesn't? 😳

For some reason when the post is posted - as it were - the formatting is lost. So just to be pedantic I've added a screen shot!

Welcum Sir John B the Rot T👏👏🙉

From us it was motorway and dual carriageway for most of the way. We got off the A40 and then took the Clytha Road to the B4598. We had been warned that there were road closures on the B 4598 ( the road the site sits on) by the site owner but they told us it was OK to come this way. Moment of anxiety when the turning onto B4598 had road closed signs partly across it. Carried on anyway and it was fine as the road was closed beyond the site. ( on the USK side) The Clytha road and the B4598 is an easy tow.
Mel
Good news.
Rang the site today. All roadworks are complete. The route via M4, A449 and Usk onto B 4598 is now clear👏👏

Last nights Chainbridge Inn specials, slow roasted brisket beef with tomato and red wine sauce, Tuscan chicken in Parmesan and sun dried tomato sauce, Bailey’s white chocolate cheesecake. Each mains £18.00 . Two of the pics show a private room , off the main bar for 12/14 persons. Should be fine for the Woosies.
Been chilly and wet so had the heating on a fair bit .Last 4 days cost £15.50 . Happy with that more later

Many years ago, I went to a BBQ where brisket "chops" or steak was cooked by the other Africans present. The meat was so tender and tasty, but I never been able to replicate it. No issue with doing a brisket in the slow cooker as that is always delicious!
