Just a thought for next year - any suggestions for a reasonably quiet relaxing site near York for next summer. What we like is more a family run site rather than a "kiss me quick" type site - too old for that now LOL. Also suggestions for quiet route from South Wales and possible stop over for out and return journies. Many thanks in anticipation

We stayed at Naburn Lock a couple of years ago shortly after it had been taken over and we will return in the future, owners were very accomodating, nicely laid out site and reasonably easy to get into York via car, bus or the water taxi.

Hi colin, you could try York caravan park. Its a family run site on Stockton lane on the outskirts of your. The bus stops every half hour into the town and is just outside the gates.

The site is very clean and it is easy to get into the pitches which are very big and gives you plenty of space between caravans. We have stayed there a lot of times. You have the Monks Cross shopping centre no more than Five minutes drive. there is the park and ride there if you dont want to take the car into the city. Then there is the Clifton manor shopping centre a bit further along. You are only a couple of minutes from the A64 which is a straight run up to the coast.

PS...this is not an advert.LOL
