Can anyone help? we have a 2005 1600 petrol zafira breeze and would like to tow a caravan. We have two children aged 4 and 8 and my wife and I we only want to carry the basics such as plastic plates and cutlery and sleeping bags, and we cant change the car at present and cannot work out a caravan we could tow we only want to drive steady and would not encounter many hills etc on routes have towed before please help, any caravans siutable.

You don't say whether it's the current Zafira or the previous model. (If it's a 2005, it could be both). The maximum permissible towload for the current 1.6 model is 1000kg, max. gross train weight 3100kg. The previous 1.6 was rated at 1100kg max. towload.

If you have the current model, I fear that you won't have many caravans to choose from. Chances are a little better if it's the old model.

hi lutz we have the older 2005 1600 petrol zafira, and as I said we would like to tow eventually we will change the car but for now with just the four of us and minimal load ie plastic cutlery, sleeping bags and most kit we would load into the back of the car anyway leaving caravan with just extras such as battery, gas bottles etc we would shop close to where we stay for food etc to keep weight down any ideas on which caravans would be great as it is so confusing
