Steve here's a thought. Why not borrow or rent a caravan for a long weekend/week or so, visit a few sites of different sizes and get a feel for what's needed by a caravanner! Could be the most realistic piece of market research you do! Andy5Z

NGH I have only heard about this Swift lead from Jennifers post. If you used my method - converting from an adaptor lead - I really cant see a manufacturer arguing over a warranty claim that has nothing to do with car connections/road lights etc. Andy5Z

Jennifer I accept that a kit from swift should be as good - it wasn't available when I did mine in '07. However I would be interested to see the quality of the wiring inside the 13pin plug as I have seen some horrors in my time. These kits are invariably made to a cost by a supplier! Andy 5Z

Sounds like either a dodgy mains unit or a perhaps a short on one of your sockets. If you have access to a current clamp you could maybe see if anything is drawing any current even with all sources disconected! Andy

Hi Susan I think the 2.5m the ads quote will be either the length (ie along the awning rail) and/or depth (from van side outwards). I have never seen any quotes for height as they are made to accommodate all vans on unlevel or uneven ground. Hope this helps. Can reccomend the Scenic Suncamp. Andy
