    Tyre Inflaters

I can also recommend the RING ones. There are quite a range on Amazon but this one has been OK for me and my tyres are kept at 63psi.

    First Time Abroad

I can echo the others posters and say it is time of year that is important. For example in June this year, we stayed at De L'etang near Angers, ( http://www.campingetang.com/index.php/en ) there are about 120 touring pitches but most days only 10 or so were occupied so it was really quiet. But...

    ACSI or Camping Cheques

Just noticed that you use La Garangoire. Just check the Caravan Club prices before you use ACSI or Cheques there. Last year we found booking ahead with the Caravan Club was dramatically cheaper as they do a 21 nights for 14, so it worked out about £11 per night in June.

    ACSI or Camping Cheques

For many years we just had ACSI but the last year tried Camping Cheques as well. However I am going back to ACSI only as Cheques are more fiddly to use with the preordering, and trying to predict how many you need in advance. I ended up with a couple on my card that I didn't use and I believe...

    Longer trip to Europe

Re: what sites will take dogs, the answer is most if you are using ACSI. Camping cheques is really poor, for some reason many of their sites either have no dogs or limit you to one which caused us some problems this year. Also be aware that ACSI allow owners to charge for a 2nd dog, although...

    Chemical taste in Water

Cheap pipes or not, we don't bother drinking from the tap. As you actually drink such a small quantity we simply use either bottled water or fill up an old 5 litre bottle and filter it.

Advice needed on a Dongle ??

Many smartphones will act as dongles or routers. Set up on Android ones is very simple and will work via WiFi or connected with a USB cable. We use GiffGaff which has very cheap data packages, £10 gives you unlimited text, 250 mins of calls plus 1Gb of data for a month. Beware though, the...

    Travelling with a dog

Its just the normal worming tablets such as Drontal Plus that the vet administers. There is a list of approved treatments but the vets will know which ones they are. It is also possible to have an injection if your dog will not take tablets. We have never had any adverse effects in our two...

    Autumn Continental Caravanning Advice

We went for the month of September last year for the first time, we have always done May/June before. If anything we found it a little busier than the early period. The main site we used was in Burgundy so there was a lot of Dutch/German traffic coming back from the South, the main pool...

    Folding bikes

I used to carry a full size bike in the caravan but it was a problem getting it out I bought a cheap folder from Argos. Unfortunately the cheap ones are not much lighter than a full size one. It does fit OK in the X-Trail but it never felt very stable to ride. If your car is high enough for...

    Skoda Superb DSG creep

Yes that makes sense, it probably has the same power and transmission and the car I was looking at was ex-demo, and sometimes they are the last to have work done. I still haven't changed from the X-trail though, I decided it was more practical for the moment.

    Where does your dog sleep?

We do the same as Otherclive, disturbing your neighbours could be a serious problem in the car. The only thing that bothers ours in the night is other dogs barking close by, when they feel they have to join in. Surely you would have to turn off the car alarms as well.

    Woosie Round Table Question???

There's no need to tell me what nice people you all are, you are all caravanners after all. Let's not worry about it anymore, its such a small concern really.

    Woosie Round Table Question???

Thank you Mel and Dusty, much appreciated, but you would probably have to put me down as Sir Reluctant. I'm not against joining in, but just look at the posts for the Woosie club at present! Top two entries in Chit-Chat, plus this one in General. The main one in Chit-Chat has 131 pages...

    Woosie Round Table Question???

The Woosie club of course! It has the potential to become a forum within a forum that some members may feel excluded from. How do you register for this club or forum? What are it's rules? OK a bit tongue in cheek I know but the point of a forum is that all members should feel they can pass...
