    Fridge not running on 12v

If it's a 13 pin setup then I wouldn't be surprised to find it isn't wired in - it happened to us on our X3. Took ages arguing with the dealer before he would cough up to pay for the wiring and socket change.

    BMW X3 preview

Very good all rounder, well built excellent tow-car and fun to drive - but can't afford a new one . . .

    Standard Tow ball

I've never heard of that one! I always thought the problem with ALKO hitch and "standard" ball was the lack of clearance between the ball and the neck- which a spacer wouldn't solve? Also is fitting a two inch spacer legal in these days of type approval for towbars?

    Rear Ended! !!!

A minor point, but IP calls are not free - unless both ends of the call are IP. IP calls (Voice over Internet Protocol - i.e transmitted over the intenet) need to "break out" of the cloud into the normal network (normally the local exchange) which has a charge, so that it can connect to your...

    what Awning to buy

We've also tried just about everything apart from air, and currently happy with the Isabella Magnum. It's short of a full awning, but bigger than a porch. There are many manufacturers that make awnings in that size, with a range of prices - you get what you pay for nowadays, but all mainstream...

    Drying out damp

Our 2008 Abbey had damp detected at last year's service - 30% in a small area at the front of the van. Quite what the percentages actually mean is beyond me, but suffice to say it was considered apprpriate for a warranty repair - replacement of the awning rail and seal. One year on and the...

    Does anyone fix powr electronics?

We have a 9 year old powr mover which is playing up - soft start on one side is causing the van to veer to one side. It's still useable with care and powr have quoted for a replacement unit (£300+) but haven't offered a repair. I know we are now a throwaway society, but surely there's someone...

    Freelander popular tow car

Freelander 2 was the best towcar I've ever had. Let down by the quality of the plastic and leather in the cockpit - but I understand LR are putting this right. Completely reliable (as was our previous TD4 Freelander 1 - now on 100k+ with our son)

    Caravan detaching from tow car

The Alko ball has a longer stem than standard allowing the stabilser head to rotate around the ball without coming into contact with the stem when the unit moves through a dip. Using the standard ball with an Alko hitch will seriously limit the amount of movement and in extreme situations it...

    Nose weight

Lutz is quite correct - I never consider twins, having never towed one.

    Nose weight

Surely if the van is sitting at the same angle as it does while towing then the slope is irrellivant. I have checked mine on my driveway slope with the guage sitting on blocks to achieve the required level and compared it to level ground - no difference. Obviously an extreme slope presents...

    Roof

Our 2008 Abbey is the same. We get an alarmingly large puddle on the roof where it's normally parked, which worries Mrs G - I keep an eye on it, and it's checked at each service. It makes we envious of Bailey owners (well almost). My old Ace with boat roof never had this problem.

    Hello

While I agree the creaking is probably the friction disc, my expeience is that the nylon support for the blade can cause creaking - cured by a smear of silicon grease

    motor mover in the wet

I have the Powrtouch with the new (cast alloy) drive wheels. The only problem I have had is the caravan wheel slipping on wet grass; I have never had a problem with lack of drive - and I have a steep drive also. MikeG

    Powrtouch service First Class

I concur - this company really do look after their customers, even after 5 years.
