Hello and welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
First of all you will need to establish what you can tow legally and safely. There is good advice available for prospective caravan buyers, click on the Advice tab at the top of the forum page. Have a look at how to find out what weight your towing vehicle will be able to tow

and check your driving licence entitlement because if you passed your driving test after 1st January 1997 there will be restrictions on the weight that you are allowed to tow.

Having established the weight of the caravan that you should buy have a look round deallers forecourts to find which layout you and your family like best and which will be the most practcal.
This website has a section in which caravans within your budget which suit your requirements are advertised.

Fill in the Caravan Finder details and a list of caravans for sale which meet your criteria will be shown.

When you are looking round the caravan that takes your fancy first make sure that the vendor actually owns the caravan and has the right to sell it.

Then inspect the caravan for signs of neglect or water ingress. There are some basic points to remember, here's some I made earlier :0)

I don't know if you sorted out a caravan for yourselves but a look at the blogs section of this website may be worthwhile.
The Practical Caravan project Coachman is being sold by The Caravan Company.
