An expensive service - tyres

The caravan has just had it's second service, all okay but a nail was found on the edge of the tread (not repairable) and also discovered that despite the caravan being 2 years old the tyres are just over 4 years old..... Rather than just change the damaged one I opted to have both done considering the age of them. The only ones I can get locally are £90.70 each. Ouch.

Best to be safe though. I would have thought that that was repairable. Just nails in the wall that weren’t.

Apparently the maximum damage diameter allowable is 6mm, that one is nearly 10mm and only the middle 3/4 of the tread area. It's an odd one though as the nail is only around 2mm diameter but it's "punched" out a bigger diameter. I'm a bit picky about tyres hence getting them both replaced. Just need to let my wallet go and have a lie down now.....

I feel your pain ( wallet opening) but I never scrimp on tyres or brakes, better safe than sorry.
These are a brand I've never heard of (Laufenn), the new ones are Nankang, again, I'd have preferred something a bit more trusted but not a lot fo choice round here at the minute

Seems a very high price to me. Have ypu tried blackcircles.com? They quoteforfullyfitted tyres at a location of your choice. Certainly worth a look.
No way that hole is 6mm in diameter, if it was then all the air would leak out around the 2mm nail!
