East Ord Caravan site, Berwick Upon Tweed. Havent been there for a few years but we used to love this site. Pub/restaurant on site, Berwicks a lovely place. Tantallon, North Berwick, nothing much on the site but stunning sea views, quite breathtaking. Approx 10 min walk takes you into the Town Centre and Sea front, lovely. Plenty wee pubs for a bar lunch too - most take dogs if you have one. Caravan club site in Edinburgh definitly, bus outside site takes you to city centre and there are lovely walks along crammond just across from site. I hope you enjoy. Audrey X

The Caravan Club Site at Spittal (which is on the outskirts of Berwick) is a nice site with fantastic views out over the river. Can be a bit noisy when trains go past, but it is brilliant for touring the borders.

Believe the Camping and Caravan Club have opened a new site near Dunbar. This too is a wonderful part of the borders, handy for Edinburgh.

You will love Berwick.

If you are looking for a "family site" with lots of entertainment for children and adults. Haggerston Castle has a touring area and statics for hire. Its all down to what you are looking for.

Have a nice time when you come north.

Hi Lyn, River Breamish CC site in Powburn, Northumberland is lovely and surrounding area stunning.

If you're after things to do in the area, Alnwick gardens and castle are fantastic and easily fill a day. Bamburgh castle and Holy Island are great too.

Happy hols!

Make sure you drive up to Eyemouth which is just over the Scottish border. There are usually seals swimming in the harbour and you can sometimes buy fish to throw to them. Some nice restaurants there too. Seahouses is nice and Bamburgh castle is worth a visit - the beach there is superb. Haggerston Castle is typical Haven but ok if you like that kind of thing (there was a thread on here a few months back). There's a very nice pitch&putt there and a super all-you-can-eat Chinese Restaurant and they're both open to non-residents.

Glad to see positive comments about River Breamish - we're booked on there for Spring Bank Holiday.

If at River Breamish check out the Plough in nearby Powburn if in need of an evening meal. And Roseden Farm shop - turn left on main road heading north and look out for signs pointing left - which does foody things, frozen meals etc. to take back to the 'van or home.

Belhaven Bay near Dunbar, closer to your Edinburgh part of trip though. Swan pond on site,Nice walk to beach, views of Bass Rock. Quieter site but in a good location for East Links Farm park and Dunbar harbour and pool. We really like it for our weekends. It has a campy feel to it which we like although we are in a touring caravan.
