Best Route to Istria Region, Croatia

Can anyone help with a suggested route to the Istria region, Croatia. We are travelling to Croatia in September. We have downloaded a Michelin route but was not sure whether or not this was the best way.

Many thanks

Sue

We have just returned and went through Belgium, Germany, Austria and Slovenia to Porec. On the return trip we came back via Luxemburg and Lille.

In Austria you have to buy a Vignette for 7.6_ cash only valid for a minimum 10 day period. In Slovenia the tolls were 10_.

Many thanks for the information. Did you find the German roads OK? Did you stay in any camp sites you could recommend.

Thanks

We went much the same route but avoided tolls by not using motorways in Austria and crossing the Alps using the Plocken Pass between Lienz, Austria and Udine, Italy and thence to Trieste. It's a route not to be recommended for large caravans, though. Our caravan is 7m overall length and that's about the limit what you can comfortably take that way.

Having connection problems not sure if it got posted or lost.

Good sites at www.camping-aumuehle.de, camping Malta and camp Nord See in Austria. May be off route but Bad Leipenzell and Trippstadt are also good sites

Graham, Many thanks for that. Have you stayed in any German camp sites that you could recommend on route.

Thanks
