Bulkhead gas regulator replacement

Hi All,

Is it something that should be done by a certified gas engineer or is it ok to do it yourself assuming you are confident in your skills?

It's a pretty simple thing to do, but you need to be sure there are no leaks once you have done it.
Me? I would happily do it (and have done in the past) But I did/would check carefully fir any leaks.

To all the nay-sayers who will tell you tge world will end if you do I will just ask them what's the difference between replacing a regulator, and changing your gas cylinder? Or for that matter replacing your pigtail? Both require gas tight joints

I am with Mr Plod, check with a soapy water, or you can buy gas leakage squirty cans.

Fully agree. If you are intelligent do it.

I carry an aerosol can of gas leak detection spray. Use this to check your new joints with the gas flowing.

I would say the same , its your caravan , The main thing is to check for leaks , obviously not with a naked flame . Don't also forget to change the pigtail if 10 years old or older, or more importantly if it is showing signs of external damage.

It’s also wise to change the pigtail if your are changing the regulator due to oiling as it got to the regulator via the pigtail 🤔
