Can we get our bottled gas in France

You can not get calor gas in france but you can get camping gaz if thats what you are using.

How long are you going for ?, we went to france a few years ago with 2 new bottles of calor on board as we where concerned about running out but after 2 weeks of heavy use with the cadac twice a day plus the oven on numerous occasions we found when we returned we had used about 3/4 of a bottle so we could have gone probably 6 weeks on two bottles with heavy use and much more if we concerved the gas.

Some French supermarkets are now offering Le Cube or equivalent on hire i.e. you pay for gas and bottle but can retrun the bottle for refund at end of trip (to the same brand of store, of course). Some also have a regulator for sale at the same time. From memory the overall price is just over 20 euro which compares very favourably with the Camping Gaz 2.7kg.

A 6kg Calor bottle lasts us easily for two months in France every Summer, that's not using a Cadac though.

Actually we are stil using last years "French" bottle now.

Paul here, I will be in France for about two years working. I will look into the possibilities when I get there. Thank you for your help.

Simple solution and saves weight, take one FULL calor from the UK and one large CampingGaz, available everywhere. Run on the CampingGaz only, using the Calor just to change out the CampingGaz. We've lasted 4 weeks like that and still came home with plenty of Calor gas.
