Once again! Last night our neighbour across the road picked up two people snooping around the cars in the cul de sac. Although hard to define, but from their gait, they seem like young men on a mission. The car that they seem to target is 2014 Picanto belonging to our next door neighbour. You can see them flashing a torch to look inside the car. This was at about 2039 hours last night. They were there a couple of minutes and walked off.

Our cars are modern ones with alarms and other gizmoos plus we have Stoploks fitted to both cars steering wheels as a visual deterrent. It has been reported to the police as a few cars have been stolen from surrounding villages as no lighting in the streets making it difficult to see them at night. Our other neighbour who has a driveway has parked his small car behind their Volvo SUV which also has all the magic anti theft stuff.
Glad we don't live in a posh area like the Malverns!

There are ourselves and one other neighbour at the end of our Cul de Sac, that have security lights, the other homes have been broken into and also the cars.
We keep telling the others to have night lights, only to see them turned off when they go to bed.

Was reading today they are stealing the cables from EV chargers.
I did mention that on another thread. Only one person in our village had an EV which was a Tesla. They are now driving a hybrid. No idea how they charged it as they did not do it at home.

Our EV point is ā€œuntetheredā€. That means it didn’t come with a cable attached. The cable is kept separately.
