Caravan insurance

Like many other people we are looking to make a few cuts. My question is this. Is it necessary to take out insurance on a 'van worth £3500 or would it be folly not to do so? Cheers, Butler

Insurance is to recoup your losses,if you can afford to lose

It is not just the point of having your van stolen for insurance.

It is also for the unexpected happening on site when not attached to the car, like the van running away from you(has happened, will happen again)or a fault which causes a fire or worse, can you afford the costs involved with OTHER peoples vans if yours is the cause of the damage?
