We have just returned from Camping Sanssouci-Guisberg (www.camping-potsdam.de) after a recommendation in April (thank you) The site facilities were absolutely immaculate (they even had self cleaning toilets!). However, a couple of words of warning. The pitches are small and very close together so access is difficult. Be very careful of your route. We took Jct 16 off E30 through Caputh and ended up on a very small car ferry and arriving at the locked back gate of the campsite! Not funny after a long, hot journey! The best way is Jct 22 off the E55 towards Werder, Geltow and Potsdam and it is signed off this road just before a railway bridge. If you take Jct 20 off the E30 towards Glindow the road is being remade and there is an awkward diversion. By the way, the site is quite expensive and does NOT take credit cards - cash only but 7 nights for the price of 6. We also stayed at a very nice site enroute near Hannover - Blauer See with a large pitch at the side of a lake.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Camping Sanssouci-Guiseberg. I am curious tho' as to your comment re size of pitches. We didn't have any problems on our visit, the motor mover helped, but we were near the entrance where the pitches were possibly marginally larger and we visited in mid May when the site was not too busy. Were you further into the caravan site perhaps - or they have decreased the size of the pitches from our visit to make mores pitches.....? my sypmathies in getting caught up in Carputh; we had some friends who flew out to join us for a few days and they stayed in a Pension in Carputh, so we got to know the streets, and the ferry, fairly well! Were the extensive road works finished?

We stayed past the main toilet block behind the private house - even the ones near the entrance were not that much larger and they seem to use every nook & cranny. There were extensive roadworks just past Hannover which took a while to negotiate on the way to Berlin but were not too bad on the return journey. Whether it was because of the time of day I'm not sure (pm to Potsdam and am on our return). We also did a day trip to Poland but as there was a 16km queue at the main border crossing we turned off and found a smaller crossing. At least we can say we've been but it's not really worth the effort.
