Do you use bags/covers for aquarolls etc?

Hi

Just wondering if you use bags etc to put your aqua rolls or waste hogs in when on the move. I've just looked on a website and for two bags for a waste hog and water hog, the cost is £24. (That was for heavy duty bags). Perhaps I'm getting a little tight in my old age.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Lisa

We sometimes use good old fashioned black binbags if they are dirty/wet when we pack up.

Just got home today from a weekend away and as it was nice weather I washed them before drying with an old towel and then putting in between seats in van.

Covers I suppose look good, but are they really necessary?!!

No we do not use baggs.

We wash them down at the tap on sit then wipe them dry with a throw away cloff. Then put them in the shower.

We use the thinner ones from bags4everything.

It's not very handy trying to wipe containers and aquaroll clean and dry when it's raining.

I bought a bag for the wastemaster, big mistake, the wrestling match trying to get the damn thing into it had to be seen to be believed, plus the industrial language that I ended up using meant that it is now consigned to the garage

I'm fortunate enough that my aquaroll and wastehog can fit in the front locker. I'm really not convinced about the benefits of bagging them.

We travel with water and waste containers in the front locker but we do use bags for TV, microwave and cables. We used to use one for the spare wheel when we travelled with that in the car boot, but have reverted to using the underslung carrier.

Hi Lisa,we put our aquaroll and wastemaster in heavy duty bags bought from bags for everything,as it keeps the inside of the van clean, especially if i'ts been raining and the containers are wet and muddy ect.I have seen some bags that are shaped to fit the containers with different couloured pipeing and the name of the container on it,very smart and posh, but a little OTT Ithought.Ours were 20 odd pounds delivered.Cheers,stuart1

no we dont

just empty them and chuck them into the roof box along with the muddy ground sheet then wash everything down including the said roof box with a hose when we get home

Yes we do!

We bought the cheapy ones from Bags for All a few years ago, and they have served us well!

We store our containers in the shower when on the move, so it keeps the muck down, and saves time faffing about cleaning them before packing up.

Yes bags always used. Each to their own, but the inside of my van is treated the same as my home- with care.

Hi

yes i agree with you geordie each to their own , but bags keep the inside clean and tidy , we use bags for most things , aquaroll , waste , cable , tv ,awning & poles.

tried the lightweight ones , cheaper but didnt last that well , so have now got all ours from ,sew n so's , in heavy duty found them to be best all round price and value .

We bought the cheaper bags and keep the aquaroll and wastemaster in the shower when travelling or the vans in storage.

We use the bags sold by 'Aquaroll'they can be a bit fiddly as they are a tolerence fit but do keep everything clean, also bought the one meant to take the aquasource but I use it for the mains lead which is a perfect fit.Just a thought they dont make bags as far as I know for Diesel and Daisy!and even if they did that would be cruel.

Thanks for all the replies.

Lolly - I wouldn't get the waste hog into a bin bag I'm afraid, it's enormous.

I'm going for the heavy duty bags, they all seem to be around the same price with postage.

Thanks again.

Say, "No to bags". Aqua rolls, waste and water hogs come in their own natural wrapping. There is no need to package them to keep them fresh. They should be sold loose and if a bag is needed it should be made from a renewable source such as paper. Better still, get a bag for life, there's a joke in there somewhere, but I'm on a warning......

Hi Lisa,

We have found Ikea's 25p heavy-duty plastic "blue bags" handy for heeping Auarolls in while in transit in the van. They are, of course, not fully enclosed but are useful for picking up and carrying a variety of kit including the awning groundsheet. Unfortunately they are not big enough to take a Wastemaster so we bought a custom-made bag for it - and we don't find it fiddly to get the Wastemaster into it.

Hi Lisa.

We use bags for both Aquaroll and the waste master, we purchased our bags from Foxwell products (www.foxwellproducts.co.uk) good strong bags at a price that does not dent the bank balance, when we first started caravanning some 10 years ago now we used to store them in the shower whilst travelling which saved space in the main isle of the van for the awning etc, to our horror the Aquaroll/wastemaster must have bounce during our journey and cracked the shower tray, now we leave them on the rear bathroom floor of our new van.

Hope this helps you with your choice.

My other half is a Yorkshire lass so very thrifty! To cover our aquaroll and waste carrier we invested in a couple of single duvet covers from a charity shop for something like

Got the bags today (heavy duty ones), really pleased with them, especially the wastehog bag, plenty of room.

Heck Lisa you are paying enough in council tax. Use the black bin bags from the council and place them in the shower tray whilst on the move. No mess, cheap as chips and if they rip the council will give you a new one free of charge.
