My drill gave up today, so looking for recommendations for a replacement, do I buy a well known brand of brushless or go for anonymous make from well know site beginning with A
I wouldn't consider buying Ni-cad battery tools any more (assuming that they are still available?). I couldn't count the number of times I went to use my old Ni-cad drill to find that the battery had gone flat in storage. I charge my Li-on drill after use and it's always been OK the next time I use it. Of course if you have an old Ni-cad tool you might as well get maximum use out of it before resigning it to the bin.If just for your caravan then go for cheap as it will get minimal use. If you are going to use it for DIY as well then buy a better brand, but don't go silly!
I have an old DeWalt with a Ni-cad battery that I use just for the caravan, the battery is pretty tired, but it does the job well enough. If/when that dies I will buy a cheappie from Aldi/Lidl to replace it.
Why not put all your for sale items on the forum Marketplace.I have a Speedjack fitting for a drill and it fits nicely over the steadies. It has a deep 19mm socket preventing it from slipping. We are not asking anything for it except postage costs. We are in Worcester.
It is not for sale as giving it away free and all I want is postage. Why not put all your for sale items on the forum Marketplace.
Still might get more views in Marketplace, as would be recipients who don’t wish to view various threads might just peruse the Marketplace as the best place for items that they may need. It widens your scope. It is not for sale as giving it away free and all I want is postage.![]()

To be honest not too bothered as the thought was that someone on this thread may find it useful as it is top quality. We have no used it for several years as had E&P.Still might get more views in Marketplace, as would be recipients who don’t wish to view various threads might just peruse the Marketplace as the best place for items that they may need. I did likewise and left the drill at home.I use the windy thing you turn with your hands 🤣.
