Easter sites

Just been looking for CC and CCC sites at Easter, most CC seem to be booked already, most CCC seem to have spaces, could this have anything to do with CCC charging deposit at time of booking, anybody else got an opinion?

CC also charge a deposit I believe. We're off to Amerden near Slough to do Legoland and maybe a trip with the kids into London.

I think it's because of the booking deposit that the C&CC sites have spaces. I can't understand what the problem is with paying deposits, it's not as if you don't get your money back! I suppose it's the case of, if you don't pay a deposit you then don't need to bother to phone to cancel, should you need to. Fortunately, thats the exception rather than the norm.

I have just booked four CC sites for our hols and haven't parted with a penny in deposits. I think the CC should go back to charging as it could deter some of the "no shows" :O)

Agree with Wendy over deposit and no shows.

Last year we turned up on spec to Ferry Medows to be turned away. (My fault could easily have phoned ahead). Later that weekend we went back to the area for a walk only to find there were over twenty no shows. The warden said that people multiple book then go where the weather is best. I believe this practice is being stamped out. I can not but think a deposit system should be implimented to safeguard the whole system as you will always get a minority who will abuse the system for their own benifit, to h*ll with the rest.

Hi Wendy. Did your P.O. escape the letest round?

ttfn.

Hi Mike,

We won't know until early summer who stays and who goes. I wouldn't be suprised if my office is on the list, as I'm only open twenty hours per week anyway.

There is word of volunteer closures, if that's the case my name will definately be on the list, particularly as I am seriously thinking of finishing in a year anyway! More time to spend in the 'van!!! :O)
