Every week when we go shopping we have to pass 4 fuel stations. The Murco one which is first is the cheapest by about 4p, but it is small service station and can be difficult to access. The other three the price difference between them is normally only about 2p. I simply use the first Esso garage as the CAMC fuel card gives me a 4p discount on petrol.I never do leg work trying to find the best price on the day, a waste of time to save a small amount. Locally I have a pretty good idea which stations are most competitive and top up when required. Although if in the adjacent town for any reason I will top up as the prices are well below our local prices and putting half a tank, or more, in is worthwhile. Out of area I refuel when required but apart from motorway services I just put the fuel in wherever it’s convenient to the journey. My satnav with subscription services tells me cheapest price in area, but I’ve never used that feature so can’t say how accurate it is.
Aren't you lucky that you are not in Spain, Portugal or even southern France where net zero is a big thing?Just completed another South Northants to North lakes transit towing with the EV. This time we left on Friday but stayed with some friends in Nantwitch on the way up. They are 118 miles from home and we arrived with about 17% left in the car (25 miles towing and 30 solo). Delighted to find the Nantwich Osprey chargers have been upgraded from 75kW to 150kW since we last used them in September. Left again on Saturday morning and stopped for a comfort break and charging at Burton in Kendal services. Lots of high power chargers there, and in fact we could have pulled through two or three of them without unhitching. Again - the charger was faster than we were and we put in about 20% more than we needed bu the time we had finished our early lunch - on to the lakes and arrived with about 50% remaining. Plenty for us to crack on with Saturday afternoon.
So far no charging issues at all. No waiting, no broken chargers and no worries about running out of juice. Even the weather is good!
Heading home next week
But the petrol stations aren’t working either. So what point are you trying to make?Aren't you lucky that you are not in Spain, Portugal or even southern France where net zero is a big thing?
The far greater range of an ICE and use of the aircon will not be affected to the same extent as an EV😉But the petrol stations aren’t working either. So what point are you trying to make?
But if you are low on fuel, you ain’t going anywhere also. Plus if you have a solar panel arrangement at home, at least you can put some miles into an EV, good bit of sunshine in Spain. The far greater range of an ICE and use of the aircon will not be affected to the same extent as an EV😉
Could you please repeat that just in case it was missed? LOL!The far greater range of an ICE and use of the aircon will not be affected to the same extent as an EV😉
It will have to be warm beer fridge not working.sirCould you please repeat that just in case it was missed? LOL!
Tobes had to recharge 2 - 3 times due to limited range when towing and if no power, they would have been stuck same as ICE vehicle if it also had no fuel. My comment was light hearted and think even Tobes understood it.
Just to add that as card machines were not working which ever fuel you chose, could not be supplied. However if you had cash, you could still buy beer!
But regardless of how big your energy store is, once its gone its gone, and if you can't refill it, for whatever reason, your stuck as what ever fuel you use cannot be dispensed or paid for.The far greater range of an ICE and use of the aircon will not be affected to the same extent as an EV😉
Absolutely. All tic😉But regardless of how big your energy store is, once its gone its gone, and if you can't refill it, for whatever reason, your stuck as what ever fuel you use cannot be dispensed or paid for.
Is there an echo in the forum? 🤣🤣🤣Absolutely. All tic😉
Tobes charged twice and arrived in the north lakes with 50% charge remaining, and one stop was the lunch break. So with 50% charge remaining he had more than enough to go for a nice cool beer.Could you please repeat that just in case it was missed? LOL!

My son in Wales was without power for nearly two days after Storm Darragh last December, but his fall backs all worked well. Doesn’t the Government advise people to have a basic emergency kit in the event of power loss. Wonder how many heed that advice? My wife still works on the 4 minute warning concept, but we don’t have the doors fitted only with two screws and sandbags at the ready 😂Just thinking even if you had cash, you still could not buy food from a supermarket because no prices wre displayed as they all use bar codes. A few years ago I did raise a thread about what to do if we had no power, but got shot down in flkames as it would never happen! Very possible now as the grid probably could not cope with fluctuations of power from solar and wind.
