Ferry Booking Long Stay

I have tried to book a ferry for a long stay in Spain ( Oct - March ) It would appear not possible to do. Has anyone who has done a long trip any advice please.

Rod, we have just returned from a 3 month trip to Spain. This was a discussion point in the bar one night. It seems P&O do not release prices for the next year until early October so you can only book the outward journey now. One guy said he used Norfolk Line ferry from Dover/Dunkirk and they accepted his booking but it had to be done over the phone as the online booking service will not accept 2008 dates.

Most of the "winterers" on site booked outward only and then arranged return via the internet or just went to the Calais terminal and were able to get on a ferry without much trouble. This of course does not work if you want to travel Portsmouth/Bilbao.

Thanks Mal, I believe you are probably right, although I have now been told to book the return in for late Dec. and amend befor this date, possible
