Ford Ranger

Can I ask does anyone tow with the ford ranger? I would like to purchase the xl version double cab 2ltr manual diesel 6 speed.
Would be nice to hear any pros or cons about it.

We tow our Adria Adora Seine with Ford Ranger XLT. We've towed with it for about 18 months. We have the roll top back. It's 2ltr manual diesel.

It certainly doesn't struggle to tow our van which is fairly large at 8.2 metres. If it's your only car you may find it more of an issue when your not towing. It's not really an everyday vehicle depending on what you do.

When away we are aware it won't get into most multi storey car parks, it's too tall to get under the height restrictions.

We are happy with it and sometimes the 4WD is handy. But we do have a second car which we use for most of our everyday driving.

Hi Andy,
Thank you for the information that is most helpful.
Kind regards

Ford Ranger is brilliant which is why it is one of the most stolen cars in the UK. Our neighbour had his stolen about a month ago and it was less than 3 months old.

Solo around 28
Towing anything from 19-22
I didn’t get it for it’s frugal running costs tbh
It is a fantastic piece of kit
Sounds about right, i used to run L200 and thought they were great trucks, car in front and dog in back along with all the usual rubbish. When i got rid of them and started driving cars i never really felt safe , was used to being higher up and felt safer.

Our Jeep GC with the 3.0l engine was about the same mpg, but motorway driving solo was about 35mpg. Solo urban probably about the same at 28mpg.

The only note of caution I would add is that lots of the Ford 2 litre diesels have the dreaded wet belt so I would be cautious if not buying new. If you've never heard about it I would suggest googling Ford wet belt, some of the stuff is a bit alarming.
