We had a boat and a caravan so needed a 4x4 to tow them. Sold the boat and now just have a Bailey Pageant Moselle (1137kg). We are thinking of changing the freelander but unsure as to where to go - a lighter 4x4 (honda crv) or mpv (diesel vw touran). Has anyone got any suggestions or is the freelander probably the best bet?

Freelander to ?

FL2 is not that economic compared to CRV, Tiguan, kuga, X trail or Qashquai but its off road abilty is by far the best. but if you don't need that then the others probably offer a better option.
Wish it was a FL2 but unfortunately its a 2003 model! Like the CRV but wondered about a Touran or other mpv type. Also like Volvos but not the huge ones. About once/twice a year we take the caravan into a field but thats about all the offroading we do.
