Not sure whether to take this offer up or not, LOL!! What I'd like to know is where they got my email address from.

-------------------------------------

From Miss Joyce Nguessan(Assistance)

Dearest one.

My beloved one, Good day to you my beloved brother, how are you doing? Hope you are doing well by his grace. I am sending you this mail to let you know that I have this beleive that you are the right person to handle this venture, behold here you are my lovely person and I have no doubt that you are heaven sent and together we will complete this venture. I have always made my words to be my bond and that stands forever and I am giving you my words. Also the scripture says that if the Lord be for us who can stand against us or who shall we fear. No one. So my dear I want you to note that you are not just a friend but a closen one to me because I never had one to call my own. I want to use this medium to give you more details about me.

Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I am quite aware that my message will come to you as a surprise because it is indeed very strange for someone you have not met before to contact you in this regard.

My name is Miss Joyce Nguessan, from Ivory Coast in West Africa,5.3ft tall, fair in complexion, single, 21 years, and presently residing in the Church camp here in Cote'd Ivoire as a result of the civil war that was fought in my country.

My late father Dr Patrick Nguessan was the managing director of Mavococoa and Associates (Ltd) and was the special advicer on imformation to the former head of state Late Dr Robert Guei. One early morning the rebels (opposition) attacked and killed my parents in our house in cold blood. I was the only survivial of the farmily as i managed to escape the attack through the help of God. I managed to make my way to a near by country Ghana where i am i was leaving as a refugee in the refugee camp. But since we are having peace in our country now i decided to come back to my country for a pupose which i will inform you on your next mail to me.

Please listen to this,I have my late father's statement of account and death certificate here with me which I will send to you latter, because when he was alive he deposited some amount of money in a leading bank in Abidjan Cote'd Ivoire which he used my name as the next of kin,the amount in question is $5.3(Five Million three Hundred Thousand US Dollars). So I will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and from it you send me money to prepare my travelling documents to come and live with you to continue my studies in your country.

Now permit me to ask these few questions:-

1. Can you honestly help me as your daughter or as wife?

2. Can I completely trust you?

3. To serve as a guardian of this fund since I am only 21years.

4. What percentage of the total amount in question will be good for you after the money is in your account?

5.To make arrangement for me to come over to your country to further my education and also to secure a resident permit in your country.

Besides, I'm corresponding with you from my country here in Cote D'Ivoire, West Africa and moreso there is great political war going on here in my country, that is the main reason why I contacted you to help me in getting me and my only inheritance out of this country so that I may not lose my life and the inheritance to war in this country, infact I'm facing difficulty at the moment in this country.

Furthermore,Dearest please indicate your options towards assisting me as I believe that this transaction would be concluded within seven (7)days you signify your interest to assist me. Anticipating to hear from you urgently.

Please, consider this and get back to me as soon as possible. I will sent to you my picture in my next mail to you.

Thanks and God bless.

My sincere regards,

Miss Joyce Nguessan

OMG Lisa, you didn't actually open this email? If I was you I'd be doing a scan on my puter now, both for a virus and a spy/ad/malware check.

It looks like it came from Nigeria :O(

Lisa, the viewer actually opens the mail, and leaves you as vulnerable as if you had fully "opened" it bu clicking it.

That is why I have disabled the viewer, so that I can delete the spam before it is opened.

Can I suggest you do the same?

Hope the puter is clean.

Lisa. It is VERY easy to get email addresses.

The spammers / scammers etc etc use a piece of software which simply generates all possible combinations of letters/digits which could prefix a given domain.

i.e.

fred@something.co.uk

fred1@something.co.uk

fred2 etc etc

So some of these are bound be live email addresses.

This is a very simple explanation but I hope it makes sense.

There will no doubt be someone on the forum who can give a full technical explanation if necessary.

Steve

Hi LMH

This is not a virus or adware "e" mail.It is a well known SCAM called a 419 after arcticle 419 of the Nigerian penal code.

They make you the offer of a % of the money they claim to have in a "trust" fund. BUT you will be required to put up a sum of your money in advance.

But you won't get anything back

All the best

Bernie

They'll also ask for your bank details to transfer the money and clean you out.

The ones I get usually tell me i'm the next of kin to some german guy that died a horrible death along with his wife and kids in a car crash, and conveniently he has somewhere in the region of

I too get crap email like that, normally 1 a day so not too many thankfully.

I use a programme called mailwasher, its free to download.

I can read the content and view the sender from the isp's server, i can then delete from their end or bounce it back to the sender, the 2nd option is my favourite, if they are going to try and fill my inbox the least i can do is send it back to them.

I click mailwasher first, delete or bounce or allow the emails from the list then click process mail, then it allows my selected emails to be opened in outlook. simple.

In addition, the beauty of mailwasher is you dont actually let them get as far as your machine so no viruses, and believe me it has picked up dozens of viruses in email content but they have never infected my machine as the email never reached my machine.

I have had on a few occassions this type of e-mail but nowadays all I seem to get is strangers offering me Viagra on the cheap. I don't think it is Lord B. as I am sure he would not encourage the continual development of the Welsh race. Now whenever I see something that looks a bit suspect I automatically delete it - if it was important they will contact me again.

Nat West and Tesco Credit Card are both part of the Royal Bank of Scotland so could be associated with either of these two companies. However I would be dubious of such an e-mail. I will NEVER give my bank details over the internet and am very cautious of giving details over the phone. I will only do so if I have phoned them, if they phone me it is a no no.

"By following the link below you will start the procedure of the client details verification:"

I wonder what details it takes for verification.

Also...

"If you are not client of Royal Bank of Scotland United Kingdom please disregard this email!"

Surely they know who banks with them.

These are, of course, standard "phishing" attacks.

Click on the link and you will go to a website that looks like that for your bank, where you will be asked to enter all your security details.

Shortly after that, your bank account will be emptied.

Quite unbelievable, but there are still people who respond to the 419 scam, and to phishing, as well as "you have won a lot of money in a competition that you never entered - send money to release your prize".

It is amazing how gullible some people can be.

You met Bina through a Viagra email????????.... posted 10 Sep 2007 10:48 PM by Lord Braykewynde

Lmmaaaooo

I was of course refering to Lisa's original post
If anyone has any money they no longer require I would be happy to take it off their hands and keep them updated on how I spend it.

There is no such thing as free money and these sort of scams rely on peoples greed.

If you do not want your money please send it to me, I may even give you a tinny on site one day and a christmas card every year and you will not get that from the scammers.

BTW

Can rec Bernies scambuster site for a laugh
