Mrs V has had enough of the free and cheap and thin ground sheet we got with the awning and would like something better for her delicate feet.

About 3m x 3m and obviously not too heavy on the payload or wallet.

Do you mean groundsheet (waterproof membrane) or awning carpet? ((Soft underfoot and breathable)
Big difference between the two.

Most sites nowadays will only allow breathable groundsheets,so the thin one would not be allowed, only useable on gravel hardstandings.

Isabell Bolon. Dear, but on a different level. We had one for over 10 years. Since we packed up the van I have put it permanently on a garden patio. And it is still going strong and looking good.

Our thin one is breathable and we've used it on grass with no problem. But the point of my question was about getting a new one.

If you look on most of the camping supply company websites they sell awning carpet and, like household carpet, there are many grades, Isabella being at the very top (and the price reflects that),
I am not decrying Isabella, just pointing out that "Other awning carpets are available"
It might be worth visiting a larger caravan dealers as that's the sort of thing they will carry in stock. That will then give you an idea of what it's like and what the cost is. Many such carpets are sold by length off a roll just like the household stuff.

We used Dorema own brand awning carpet even when we moved to an Isabella Magnum (pre owned) awning. Just folded the carpet to the smaller footprint of the Isabella awning. It withstood us, grandchildren and two lively dogs.

While it would be a good idea to go an see some or even visit the Aldi/Lidl stores, where I live its not practical and would cost more to get there than the awning carpet.

So we have to rely on the internet for a lot of shopping, which makes recommendations, not exactly essential, but very helpful.

So thanks for all the suggestions.

We have a Vango awning and bought the bespoke awning carpet for the make and size. It is sort of “Moroccan carpet” woven style. Has lasted well and is good underfoot.
